RE: Double Yellow Lines alongside The Grove, Aberdare (UPDATE)

Good morning Residents, 

Several weeks ago, I submitted a request to RCT Council on behalf of residents living on The Grove, Aberdare, to look into the possibility of adding Parking Restrictions in the form of Double Yellow Lines outside of their junction. 

Yesterday, I received a response from RCT Council. They advised the following: -

We receive numerous requests for such measures each year and, with a limited budget, the Authority is able to implement a select few of such schemes each financial year. This year’s programme has already been approved, and it is not feasible to include additional schemes at this time. 

Notwithstanding, this request shall be appended to RCT Traffic Management’s programme of future works for consideration at a later date; however, I would caution that this scheme will ultimately compete with a number of scheme requests of a similar nature. Due to the Council’s limited budget, funding must be assigned to schemes where safety concern is greatest – the collective safety and wellbeing of highway users is paramount and remains the Authority’s priority.
